Free Music Radio is an internet Radio Station based in Pretoria, in the Republic of South Africa.
Founded in October 2023 by DJ Champie, founder and owner of the radio station, FMR seeks to bring music to its listeners, no matter where you are in the world.
How do you access internet radio?
Internet radio can be received via other internet-enabled devices, such as laptops or smartphones – and listened to via loudspeaker or headphones. DAB radios that are Wi-Fi-enabled or connectable to the sound source via Bluetooth, can also be used to listen to internet radio.
DJ ChampieDJ Champie is also an avid supporter of Women’s Rights and is actively involved in raising awareness around the fight against cancer as well as depressive disorders.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGNSAs the old adage says, Prevention Is Better than Cure!
FREE MUSIC RADIO is very active in an on-going awareness campaign on the need to pay heed to the early tell-tale signs of cancer, encouraging timeous screening and knowing your status. Taking action in the initial phases saves lives!
We run daily adverts to encourage members of the community to get tested in time to curb the high incidence of cancer cases and deaths in our country and worldwide.
Furthermore, we also encourage our listeners to address mental health issues in order to minimize the high suicide rates in our country and other parts of the world.
The rapid increase in cases of self-inflicted mortality amongst the musical community around the world, as well as amongst those who have lost hope in a better tomorrow and who battle daily against their inner monsters, is very close to DJ CHAMPIE's heart.
A great part of his day goes towards raising awareness on these issues and in having adverts and videos created for social media platforms, to raise awareness and encourage those who are in a dark place.
Champie's Pink Headphones
Three years ago, DJ CHAMPIE lost his daughter to cancer.
Her diagnosis and passing were sudden and unexpected, so he is very passionate about warning people not to ignore the tell-tale signs and thereby prevent others from going through the trauma of losing a loved one to cancer.
The pink headphones are symbolic of his dedicated struggle against the fear of getting tested and the world's ongoing battle against losing those we love to this condition.
Champie is also passionate about raising his voice against domestic violence and all sorts of abuse, hence his choice of pink headphones.
